• The UK government has announced a more easy method for local businesses to hire skilled foreign nationals, by changing the sponsor license renewal procedure.
• From April 6 onwards, no need to renew the UK employment license after four year.
• This initiative will make procedure easy for employers and reduce the streamlined burden and cost association.
• Existing sponsor license expiring on or after April 6, 2024, will be automatically extended by ten years.

Details of the new UK Employer License renewal Process:

Under the previous system, sponsors were required to submit the application fees before 90 days expiry date ranging from £536 to £1,476. The processing time was up to eight weeks. From 6th  April 2024 onwards there is no need of renewing the UK license after four years.

 

Existing sponsor valid licenses that expire on 6th April or before 6th April will automatically be extended for ten years without the need for renewal altogether. The UK Home Office had taken the initiative to contact the person who had already initiated the renewal process to arrange the refund of their application fee. To further check the License expiry date the sponsor can acess through License Summary" section within the online Sponsorship Management System (SMS).

 

Last December, the Sunak government established new rules that included a significant salary requirement hike for those who want to live in the UK.

 

As per the new rule, individuals who want to acquire a UK work visa must earn £38,700, which previously was £26,000.
