The Rural and Northern Immigration pilot program is Canada’s immigration program. It applies to skilled foreign workers who wish to work and live in the large cities of Canada. The successful applicants will be permitted to accompany their family members and obtain permanent residence in Canada through the RNIP.

RNIP invited 555 new permanent residents in 2021
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) officials visited and addressed the immigrants through the RNIP and spoke with the stakeholders in Manitoba’s town southwest of Winnipeg in June 2021.

So far, the RNIP, in Manitoba alone, has 50 extended job offers to applicants making a predictable increase of 160 individuals to the local population. It has been reported that half the applicants have entered through Canada, and the rest are yet to arrive.

The five-year pilot program implemented after the Atlantic Immigration Program was hugely successful. It was built to provide economic immigration benefits to small communities by opening the door to obtaining permanent residence for skilled foreign workers willing to live and work in one of the many collaborative communities. The IRCC data has reported that it has been effectively working.
