The European Union parliament agreed on a revised Single-Permit that combines EU work and residency permits.
A rule that applies to non-EU citizenship is to get an EU permit regarding recognition of qualifications, working conditions, social security, tax benefits, etc.
This is an important tactic to attract foreign talent for the areas facing severe shortages.
To fulfill the needs of the labor market, the EU government has opted for the right talents that will foster innovation and growth. The new EU work and residency permit as a single permit will also streamline the application process.
After the single permit is established, the third countries and the EU state members can apply for it. Non-EU and EU state Members can live, work, and hold a permanent residency permit.
The law will also provide more robust protection for workers from third countries, allowing them to change employers. Non-EU workers will also be subjected to a minimum employment period during which their single –permit won’t be withdrawn.
Besides this, the administration will also look after the employers, ensuring they are treated equally, and will take steps if someone violates the rights of non-EU workers.
