The SINP expands existing Canada Work permits by including 279 new occupations. SINP is increasing the work permit to lower foreign workers and making them eligible to apply for permanent residency. The permanent residency workers must pass the prominent program criteria and meet language criteria to get permanent residence.
SINP is focusing on improving worker retention and addressing the labor market. The province currently has more than 16000 job vacancies. In five years, the total will be 112,260 job openings.
IRCC agreed to give Saskatchewan the authority to assess the candidate's ability to live in Saskatchewan. IRCC also agreed to Saskatchewan's annual allocation of provincial nominees. Saskatchewan's goal is to reach 1.4 million residencies by 2030. Saskatchewan got the freedom to dictate immigration level and deliver services for the newcomers for retention and integration.
