The Australian Government had announced two pilot schemes that aimed at supporting innovation and talent in the nation. These are the Supporting Innovation in South Australia and Global Talent Scheme, as quoted by the Home Affairs Gov Au. Both of these aim to support job creation, skills transfer, and business growth. This is by attracting highly skilled overseas talents to help in to foster innovative businesses in Australia.

Supporting Innovation in South Australia scheme

Startups are crucial for the future prosperity of the economy of Australia. They create fresh jobs, propel innovation and bring opportunities for the economy’s diversification. The pilot scheme aims to:

• Harmonize existing visas for entrepreneurs and startups in the Business Investment and Innovation Program

Department of Home Affairs is working in close collaboration with the Government of South Australia for implementing the pilot scheme. The scheme will be rolled out nationally in 2019 subject to a successful review.
