Abstract: Spain issued work visas to 41,440 foreign workers by August 2022.

According to the reports by the authorities of Spain, the country has registered 41,440 foreign workers by August 2022.  It was also reported that the total number of international workers in Spain rose to 2,419,877.

Increase in Foreign Workers in Spain

The Government of Spain published the figures of foreign workers employed in the country. The registered figures for August show that international workers constitute 12.1% of the total workforce of Spain.

The information provided by the Spanish government of international workers registered by August end is given in the table below:

Additionally, the data reveals that 55.8% or 1,358,729 of the international workers are men, and 44.2% or 1,078,762 of the foreign workers are women.

What are Third Countries?

The term "Third Countries" is used in international treaties. It means that the country is not part of any Union. The term is derived from the understanding that the country is not a member of any agreement between two other nations.

The list of countries categorized under "Third Countries" are:

  • United States of America
  • Canada
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • Israel
  • Japan
  • South Korea
  • Monaco
  • Andorra
  • San Marino

These countries are not part of either  EU, EFTA (European Free Trade Association, or any such global union.
