Details of the announced plan:

This new program initiated a citizenship path for undocumented immigrants. The reason for taking this initiative was to set out a plan for inviting 500,000 immigrants annually by 2025. Inviting these immigrants will also benefit population growth by contributing to economic prosperity.

 

According to the current report, the population is around 300,000 to 600,000 immigrants without valid documentation. These undocumented immigrants face the problem of deportation due to a lack of formal status.

 

This proposed program will include those residing in Canada who need proper documentation and those who initiate legally as a temporary worker or international students who want to stay beyond visa expiry.

 

Later, Minister Miller explained that the program is not open to all undocumented immigrants who have recently entered the country. This proposal initiates undocumented immigrants who can be presented in the cabinet in the upcoming spring.

 

This program also focuses on housing challenges and elevated inflation rates. However, the government focuses more on immigration targets for the next two years rather than economic concerns.
