Tasmania updates its SOL for Australia Subclass 489 Visas

Tasmania State has revised its Skilled Occupations List for sponsorship under the Australia Subclass 489 Visas. In order to apply for sponsorship from Tasmania an applicant is required to meet any one of the below requirements:

• Graduate in Tasmania with at least 2 years of study
• Employed in Tasmania
• Possess a job offer from Tasmania

The TSOL identifies skills that are needed currently by Tasmania. It is derived from the eligible list of occupations for Australia Subclass 489 Skilled Regional Visas and Subclass Skilled Nominated 190 Visa. These are as per the outline of the Government of Australia, as quoted by the SBS.

The occupations listed in the TSOL are those that are identified by the Government of Tasmania as skill shortage areas in the state. This is based on currently available evidence. For nomination purposes by Tasmania, it is used primarily for the assessment of applications. This is for the 3A - Overseas Applicant Category for Australia Subclass 489 Skilled Regional Visas.

The TSOL can also be used for limiting and or prioritizing nominations based on nomination allocation. This is for both Australia Subclass 489 Skilled Regional Visas and Subclass Skilled Nominated 190 Visa.

Overseas applicants must note that the list is only an indicator of skills shortages in Tasmania. It does not necessarily imply that job is guaranteed in Tasmania if their occupation is included in the list.
