• 20,000 applications for TFWs in healthcare
• 30,000 applications for TFWs in other selected occupations treated as essential

Also, in the fall of 2022, the existing NOC system of categorizing occupations for the purpose of immigration will change to TEER. The new system will categorize jobs on the basis of training, experience, education, and responsibilities rather than on the basis of the type of skill. It’s an exciting development and will influence the way foreign workers will be welcomed in Canada via the country’s immigration programs.

Canada has a very ambitious immigration levels plan for years spanning from 2021 to 2024. In 2021 itself the country is working towards reaching the ambitious figure of 401,000 new immigrants.
