The Quebec way to Canada immigration: Latest draw invites 23 candidates

Quebec issued invitations to 23 immigration candidates giving them the opportunity to apply for permanent selection. The candidates were issued invitations under QSWP. The QSW program opens up a pathway that helps them to do Canada immigration to settle in Quebec.

MIFI manages the permanent selection of candidates to Quebec. To become eligible to apply for it, the candidates need to file an EOI in the Arrima pool.

The Quebec government’s Arrima online platform offers many services to foreign nationals who desire to immigrate to Quebec. Arrima is an entirely free platform for anyone to make use of.

The invitations sent in this draw also targeted candidates who held a valid job offer outside the MMA (Montreal Metropolitan Area). Also targeted were candidates who reside in Quebec as a UN representative, consular official, diplomat, or representative of an intergovernmental organization involved in operations in Quebec.

In the first 3 quarters of 2021, Quebec issued invitations to 28,770 new individuals who held a Canada PR visa. Of these individuals, 16,655 came to Quebec via economic programs, of which 1,315 were business immigrants and skilled workers were 15,335 in number.

About QSWP

QSWP is designed to assist skilled workers in economically establishing themselves in Quebec. This program is popularly chosen by international graduates as well as skilled workers with the desire to immigrate to Quebec. They arrive in Quebec as permanent residents and workers in the province.

Once candidates involved in the draw get the invitations issued by Quebec, within 60 days they will need to file their application to obtain permanent selection. They are also required to pay the processing fee.

In the normal course, it takes 6 months to process these applications. In case the application is accepted, candidates will be issued a CSQ (Quebec Selection Certificate). With their CSQ, they can file the application for a Canada PR visa to Canada’s federal government.
