Australia has a points-based system of immigration according to which you will need a minimum of 65 points under the points grid. Here’s how the criteria for scoring points goes:

State sponsorship (Subclass 190 visa) | 5 points |
Skilled spouse/de facto partner (English language, age, and skills requirements to be met) | 10 points |
Spouse/de facto partner possessing ‘competent English’ level (No need to meet Skills requirement or age factor) | 5 points |
Applicants without a de facto partner/ spouse or where a spouse is an Australian PR holder or citizen | 10 points |
Age
When it comes to age, you must be aged below 45 years to be eligible to apply for Australia PR.
Language Proficiency
You are required to prove that you possess a competent proficiency level in the English language.
SOL (Skilled Occupation Lists)
You are required to choose an occupation listed in the SOL that contains the currently acceptable occupations to migrate to Australia. The list of occupations gets updated regularly to reflect the Australian labor market’s changes. The 3 categories of the SOL are:
Eligibility points requirement for PR visa
A minimum of 65 points is required for you to be eligible for Australia PR. Scoring between 80 and 85 points earns you quicker eligibility for Australia PR.
With at least 65 points, you can be eligible for the following Australia PR visas:
Subclass 189: Skilled Independent visa
This is a PR visa for foreign workers invited to immigrate to Australia because they have the skills needed by the Government of Australia. Subclass 189 allows you to live and work anywhere in Australia permanently.

Subclass 190: Skilled Nominated visa
This visa lets skilled foreign workers with a nomination from Australia to live and work and study anywhere in Australia as Australia PR holders.
As with Subclass 189, it’s necessary that you receive an ITA to be eligible to apply for Subclass 190.
