Types of German student visa

There are three types of German student visas and you can apply for the one as per your requirements. These visas are discussed below in detail:

·         Language Course Visa

You can apply for this visa if you want to go for German language courses whose duration can be 3 months to 1 year.

·         Student Applicant Visa

You can apply for this visa if you have not received an admission letter from a university or you have to go for an entrance examination for the university you applied for. The visa is valid for 3 months and can be extended up to 6 months.

·         Student Visa

You can apply for this long-term visa if a German university has accepted your application and provided admission letter. In order to obtain the German Residence Permit, you have to get registered with the Alien Registration Office in the German city where you want to reside.

Requirements for German Student visa

  • Two filled out and signed visa forms
  • Valid passport
  • Two photocopies of the passport
  • Birth certificate
  • Marriage certificate if required
  • Child certificate if required
  • Two portrait photographs recently clicked
  • Proof of funds
  • Proof of admission
  • Original copies of previous educational certificates
  • CV
  • Proof of payment of visa fee
  • Proof of German language proficiency for German or mixed language programs
  • Proof of English language proficiency for English or mixed language programs
