As per the report, in 2023, there was a 2.4 per cent job vacancy. France is going through a labour shortage. The highest number of shortages reported by the European Labour Authority (EURES) is spotted in fields like construction and building trades, healthcare, IT, engineering, agriculture and manufacturing. Here is the list of occupations that are going through labour shortage:
These skills are much needed in France, so any foreign worker with these skills or professions has a higher chance of getting employed in France.
The report also noted that the French economy relies on immigrant workers, out of which many of them in irregular situation work without a work permit.

Works which are not required in France are:
Nationals of the European Union, European Economic Area and Switzerland don’t need a visa to work in France.
The citizens of other countries need a French work visa to work in the country. However, before applying for a work visa, different from other criteria, they should have a job from an employer in France.
