Cities and EU countries have been regarded as the happiest places for residing. Ninety percent of the EU resident expressed satisfaction with their life in Europe. Precisely 31 percent of residents stated that their quality of life had improved, and 40 percent indicated no change.
The smaller cities are considered the best places for older people, families with young children, and migrants.

The report also included 83 other countries associated with European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries.
Even in a report that was published in 2020, nine out of ten people in Europe were happy with their city life, and residents felt safer in smaller cities back then, too.
