Details of the recent immigration to the UK  

Net migration reached 672,000 in the year ending June 2023, up from 607,000 the previous year. Due to the increased migration to the UK, the government cannot fulfill its promise to reduce immigration. 

 

At the end of December 2023, it will be around 745,000, which would be regarded as a new record. Previously, it was calculated that 139,000 immigrants who would migrate to the UK.

 

The number of immigrants is increasing every day. In 2015, the numbers were 329,000, less than this year's count. This immigration news is a problem for some voters, as it will pressure public services.

 

Currently, the government is looking for a solution to reduce illegal immigration to the UK and also to reduce the number of people who are legally arriving in the UK. However, the labor shortage in some industries and the need for accommodation for people from Ukraine and Hong Kong under special visa schemes have made it an issue to decrease the immigration demand. 

 

The recent net migration figure is for work in the UK to fulfill their role in the health and care sectors.
