Highlights: From July 1, 2023, UK passport holders can apply for Australia Subclass 417 Visa

• Australia and the UK signed an Free Trade Agreement.
• As per the new agreement, arrangements will be made under the Youth Mobility Scheme and Working Holiday Maker program.
• UK passport holders can now apply for the Working Holiday visa from July 1, 2023.
• From July 1, 2024, they will be granted the Subclass 417 Visa without fulfilling any specific work requirement.

UK passport holders can apply for Australia Subclass 417 Visa

Australia and the United Kingdom entered into an Australia and UK Free Trade Agreement. According to this, both countries have agreed upon new arrangements under the Youth Mobility Scheme and Working Holiday Maker (WHM) program.

The UK passport holders, under the new agreement, will get the following benefits:

• From July 1, 2023, they can now apply for the Working Holiday visa or the Subclass 417 Visa. The passport holders must be aged between 18 and 35 years to be eligible to apply.
• From July 1, 2024, they will be able to get a maximum of three Working Holiday visas without meeting any specific work requirements.
