UK to start 32 new Language test centers around the world

The UK has announced the starting of 32 new ELT centers in various locations around the world. It will serve the requirements of UK visas & immigration.

4 new centers have been confirmed in the UK in Wolverhampton, Leeds, Cardiff, Cambridge. The other centers will be opened by Pearson in other countries of the world. 3 UK Visas and Immigration ELT centers have been announced in China. These centers overseen by Pearson in China will be located in XiAn, Shenyang, and Chongqing.

Caracas, Venezuela’s capital and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania will also have centers. The Senior Vice President of Pearson, the English Assessment organisation, Freya Thomas Monk, said that the number of UK Visas and Immigration approved centers will come to nearly 150 with this new announcement.

Pearson sees a high demand from the world over for test-takers wanting to book and deliver PTE. Most of the new locations are now open to deliver ELTs. There’s plan to open more centers once the local COVID-19 restrictions end.

Pearson’s test centers have safety measures against COVID-19 in place. There are sanitizers, disinfection of workstations, and sanitation of frequently touched points.

Government had given approval to Pearson in May 2020 to offer ELTs for UK immigration and visa purposes. Since then, Pearson has opened 147 centers around the world in different locations.

Pearson offers services that include:

• PTE Academic test catering to Tier 2 work visas and Tier 4 study visas
• PTE Home test for applications for UK family visas, citizenship, and settlement
