In the middle of the ongoing healthcare worker shortage in the United Kingdom, the National Health Service (NHS) Trust is planning to hire more than 100 healthcare professionals from India.

The York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust recently visited Kerala for recruitment and hired 107 medical staff. The medical staff includes 97 registered nurses and 10 allied health professionals.
The York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has started bidding for the NHS England funding already to make sure that it is able to support international nursing recruitment from April 2023 to November 2023. The trust is aimed at getting 90 international nurses to generate 450,000 pounds in funding.
In January 2023, the vacancy rate of the trust was 11.5 percent for healthcare support workers. At the same time, the vacancy rate of registered nurses in adult inpatient areas was 14.5 percent.
The vacancy rate of the adult inpatient wards got reduced to 7.6% after the joining of the foreign nurses.
About 43,000 nurses in the UK have quit their careers in the early stages in the last five years. Approximately 47,000 nursing vacancies are there in England, according to the Royal College of Nursing data.
