USA conducts its third H1B visa lottery on November 19, 2021

Here are the details of the third H1B visa lottery of 2021. This lottery was held to reach the numerical cap for the fiscal year 2022.

The lottery was held on November 19, 2021. Using a random selection process, USCIS selected visa registrations that were previously submitted electronically. On November 22, 2021, the petition filing period on the basis of registrations selected on November 19, 2021, will commence.

The myUSCIS accounts of those with selected registrations will be updated. A selection notice will be included which will have details of where and when to file them.

The annual cap for H1B visa issuance in the US is 65,000. An additional 20,000 are reserved for applicants who have done their course in Masters in the US.

The USCIS follows a September to October year. The applicants selected for the fiscal year 2022 would be eligible to commence working in the US from October 2022.

About the H1B visa

H1B visa is a non-immigrant/temporary US visa. It lets US companies get qualified foreign nationals to work for employers in a specialized occupation. The visa is valid for 3 years, extensible once for 3 more years.

Applying for the H1B visa from the number of visas allotted for a particular year was made an electronic process in 2020. • You must have education, training, or experience that’s verifiable and recognized, in the specialty equivalent to at least a Bachelor’s degree.
