Abstract: The United States has expanded premium processing for work authorization for certain international students.

The USCIS or US Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that it would allow certain F-1 students to apply for premium processing services.

The premium processing will begin on March 6, 2023, and for certain other categories, the processing will begin on April 3, 2023.

The following international students can request a premium processing upgrade:

• Have F-1 visa
• Seeking OPT or Optional Practical Training
• Students having STEM OPT extensions
• Students who have a pending Form I-765

USCIS has facilitated the online filing of Form I-907, which requests premium processing service. The F-1 candidates in the categories mentioned above are eligible.

From March 6, 2023, USCIS will accept Form I-907 requests for the following categories:

• Pre-Completion OPT
• 24-Month Extension of OPT for STEM students
• Post-Completion OPT

From April 3, 2023, USCIS will be accepting requests for Form I-907 filed along with Form I-765.
