Overview:
From the recent announcement made by Western Australia, the invitations to apply for the state nomination will be conducted through the ranking system that gives importance to the applicants who are presently residing in the State, followed by the individuals living in Australia, and then the ones who are living overseas.
The program year will also allow the candidates to access an extensive, expanded Graduate Occupation List under the Graduate stream, with an availability of 300 occupations.

The government of Western Australia put out their new initiative that is supposed to attract skilled immigrants and international students to help overcome skill shortages.
According to the state government's $195 million Reconnect WA strategy, 194 more occupations have been added to the Graduate Occupation List, with 331 listed occupations to attract more international students to study.
Expanding the Graduate Occupation List will help attract a diverse and broad range of skills that align with the State's present and future workforce needs

The expanded list of occupations will be made available in 2022-23 and is defined in the latest WA State nomination (2022-23).
The skilled migration pathway provides the International students graduating with WA with an option to apply for permanent residence.
Nevertheless, the invitations to apply for the WA state nomination under the new Graduate Occupation List will not begin until the 2022-23 program year.
Sue Ellery, the State Education, and Training Minister, mentioned, "Meeting the needs of the Western Australia skilled workforce is very integral for the State Government, to promote the economic growth and pipeline of works of the State powerfully."
The International Education Minister David Templeman stated, " The International students are an essential part of the Western Australia community. They positively contribute to the State's vibrancy and diversity, and promote the local jobs in multiple industries."
The categories available for the applicants to apply for the state nomination include the Subclass 190 visa, Subclass 491 visa, and Subclass 494 visa.
