Australia is facing an acute labor shortage these days. The COVID-19 pandemic created this situation as it has done with many other countries of the world.

The Solution

Australia has faced its acute labor shortage with a counter-measure in PMSOL. PMSOL is a list of occupations that Australia prioritizes as being jobs that require critical skills. The applications from skilled migrants willing to work in Australia with occupations in the PMSOL list will be processed on priority.

The prioritized processing will be done under the following visa sub-classes:

  • Skilled Employer-Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa
  • TSS (Temporary Skill Shortage) visa
  • RSMS (Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme) visa
  • ENS (Employer Nomination Scheme) visa

Individuals ready to work in Australia and qualify under PMSOL will get an exemption to arrive in Australia. Such an exemption may be granted if the individual or his/her employer applies for it.

Every individual who gets permission to enter Australia under the PMSOL scheme will have to undergo a quarantine period of 14 days. The expenses will be borne by the individual or his/her sponsor.
