"A highly potential, new individual route is expected to make the process easier for the individuals who are internationally mobile and who have a considerable potential to enter the U.K., as it will allow those who have shown their potential through academic achievement to arrive in the U.K. without a job offer," stated Kevin Foster, the Immigration Minister of the U.K.

A new pathway to enter the U.K.

The graduates from the world's most renowned universities have a new pathway to enter the United Kingdom, awarded within five years of application.

The High Potential Individual (HPI) visa targets attract graduates from high-skilled foreign universities. Based on their degree level, the graduates will be permitted to stay and work in the U.K. for two to three years.

 The applicants need not require a job offer or sponsorship, and the visa holders are allowed to enter the U.K. to work. They will be eligible to switch to other long-term employment visas if they meet the requirements.

A fascinating category under the post-Brexit points-based system is focused on attracting the finest talent worldwide, regardless of nationality, said the Indian-origin UK Cabinet Ministers Rishi Sunak and Priti Patel in a joint announcement.

A two-year work visa will be provided to the applicants and a three-year visa to individuals with Ph.D. without a necessary job offer.
