The Canadian International Mobility Program allows Canadian employers to hire international workers without a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) approval. The program provides work permits for positions that bring economic, cultural, and other benefits to Canada, its citizens, and permanent residents.
The program is mainly administered by the IRCC. And the employers hiring any foreign national under this program without an open work permit must submit an offer of employment through the Employer’s Portal.
Under the International Mobility Program, the processing time of the work permit gets reduced drastically. Also, skilled immigrants enjoy many perks, including the opportunity to work in Canada and the eligibility to apply for a Canada PR.
STEP 1: Check the eligibility
STEP 2: Take English Proficiency Test
STEP 3: Arrange the checklist of requirements
STEP 4: Apply for the Canada IMP
STEP 5: Get your permit and fly to Canada
The processing time for Canada IMP varies from 3 weeks to 27 weeks. However, it will depend upon whether the work permit is an open work permit or an employer-specific work permit and applicant’s nationality.
The processing fees for Canada IMP is CAD155. But if you choose to apply for an open work permit then it costs CAD100.
