Greece Tourist Visa

Greece, also known as the Hellenic Republic, is home to one of the oldest civilizations in the world. Tourism is one of the major revenue generators for this Southeast European country as it accounts for about 25% of its GDP. The following are the major attractions for tourists in Greece:

If you want to visit Greece for a short stay, you will need to apply for a type C Schengen Visa with which you can stay in the country for up to 90 days during a period of 180 days. Holders of this visa can tour, visit family or friends, and attend meetings/conferences/seminars, among others. 

You are allowed to lodge a visa application for up to six months before and a minimum of fifteen days before the scheduled date of the trip.

Eligibility criteria to apply for a Greece Tourist Visa:

• A passport that is valid for three months beyond the trip dates. 
• Two recent passport-sized photographs 
• A photocopy of the completed and signed application form
• Proof of arranged accommodation, air tickets, and a detailed schedule of your travel to Greece
• Proof of adequate financial resources to sustain all your expenses in Greece
• Bank statement for the past three months 
• Evidence of having medical insurance of €30,000 for the tour 
• A cover letter describing the purpose of the visit 
• Proof of civil status, a marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, etc.
• Pay fees of €80 for adults and €40 for children aged six to twelve. Children below six are not charged visa fees.
